ABOUT US
Carnmore is a small rural townland in the parish of Claregalway. Carnmore is located approximately 8km east of Galway City. We represent the parish on hurling fields while Claregalway field our parishes football teams. The club was founded in 1944 as a Junior club and since then has competed in five county Senior finals in 1971, 1974, 1992, 1993 and 1996. The club has won both the Intermediate and Junior Championships twice in 1961 and 1988 and 1946 and 1955 respectively. Following nearly 30 years in Senior hurling the club recently returned to the Intermediate grade in 2017. Since then Carnmore have claimed their first ever Minor A hurling title and have been promoted to Senior Camogie for the first team in our history in 2019.
We strive to continually grow and improve as a club and a community both on and off the field. We place a strong emphasis on both the personal and player development of our juveniles to ensure they have the skills and experience to serve them well in later life. Community and good will is at the centre of everything we do. Here in Carnmore everyone is welcome and building life long friendships is what it is all about for us.
Check out Senior Hurling in Carnmore, a walk through history, we would like to thank Marie Grealish for putting this wonderful piece together. It is a fantastic educational, historical and memorable collection of match reports, match day programmes and photos over the years.
